Senior Credit Analyst

GENERAL FUNCTION:

Exempt position. Conducts credit investigations and analyzes financial statements; assists in the preparation of financial/credit information reports for presentation to loan officers or committees; furnishes information in relation to credit inquiries; provides assistance to loan officers as requested; provides assistance to Manager in supervising and training other staff members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Obtain all available and necessary financial data from the credit file, loan officer and customer in preparation of a loan presentation.
• Spread and analyze financial statements; study and evaluate the information and prepare written reports/presentation for the lender.
• Review, monitor and prepare construction loan draws through the acquisition and review of contractor and owner statements, and inspection reports.
• Review and evaluate appraisal reports and environmental reports.
• Prepare and maintain month-end and quarter-end Board of Director reports.
• Prepare and review loan-funding memos.
• Check pledged assets as requested by the lending officer.
• Assist with outgoing computerization of the credit/loan review function.
• Assist and provide back-up support to the commercial credit officer.
• Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
• Train and mentor junior credit analysts.
• Review and evaluate all loan presentations/underwriting prepared by the credit analysts.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in supervising and delegating work to other members of the staff.

EXPECTATIONS:

• Some contact with customers, conducting relationships in a professional manner that will enhance the overall marketing effort of the bank.
• Communicate frequently with supervisors and loan officers.
• Meet and/or exceed your goals.
• Prepare loan presentations accurately and in a timely manner so that the can go to loan committees (if applicable) for approval.
• Have read, understand and know the Bank’s Lending Policy and be able to apply it in accordance with your duties and responsibilities.
• Able to work independently with little direct supervision in the timely preparation of assigned duties.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• 4-year college degree (business or finance)
• Minimum of 2-3 years as a credit analyst at a financial institution or similar position in another industry.
• Knowledge of MS Suite of Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Internet skills
• Moody’s Financial Analyst/Risk Analyst
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Knowledge of commercial business and commercial real estate lending
• Knowledge of construction lending

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Training will be provided during your Introductory Period and annually thereafter. If you need additional training, you are responsible for contacting your immediate supervisor.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature and the like.
• Requires manual dexterity sufficient enough to operate offices machines such as computers, fax machines, calculators, telephones, and other office equipment.
• Extended viewing of CRT screen.
• Moderate lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Repetitive hand and arm movement.v
• May require excessive sitting, standing, bending and reaching.
• Normal range of hearing and vision.
• Must be able to drive/have transportation.
